	Tourist™ Series Overview

	Our Tourist™ series products are convenient-to-use and inexpensive language study programs designed for small portable devices such as mobile (cellular) phones. Just select the section below for the appropriate "Host Language" -- the language that you already know. For your selected product, prompt messages will be shown in your chosen Host-Language and on-screen translations will be shown in the "studying" language for each of over 450 popular words and simple phrases. These translations are organized into eleven categories: General, Places, Foods, Objects, Transport, Directions, Calendar, People, Numbers, Colors, and Language Names. You can change the "studying" language with one key-stroke at anytime. No air-time connections are necessary since everything needed is stored as an application 'MIDlet' on your phone. Most phones manufactured in the last few years can be used, regardless of screen size, but the screen layouts will vary slightly from those shown. After starting the program, select a category from the pull-down menu, then use your 'Right' and 'Left' (and 'Up' and 'Down') keys to go through the lessons. Because the sequence of words are ordered into logical groups, and then logically sequenced within those groups, you can quickly find useful translations while traveling.

NOTE: These programs now are shipped as a J2ME-format 'jar' file -- a computer-file format for 'Java™' code that is supported by all newer mobile devices running the 'Symbian™' or 'Linux™' Operating Systems, or any other computing device that supports 'Java™ J2ME' applications.

After downloading such a file, transfer it to your mobile device using the procedure specified by your device's manufacturer, and your device automatically will install the new program in your device's "Application" folder and an icon will appear for this new application program. Click on that icon to start ("launch") the program.

Upon request, we also can provide a Symbian™ Series 60 'sis' file, or a 'jad' file, but most devices do not require these.
